Card Captor Sakura, Shin-Sangoku Musou 2, Sky Gunner

Ever since I learned that Sakura Tange, Junko Iwao, Aya Hisa... did the main character voices for Card Captor Sakura, I wanted to watch more and more. I think I'll order some more DVDs from the states....

Gaming: my hard drive crashed hard, so I haven't updated in quite a while. In between times of restoring my harddrive, I was playing Sky Gunner and Shin-Sangoku Musou 2.

I first watched the intro for Sky Gunner at a PC shop. I told Shimizu that it was a Sega game. The intro's anime and music sure held his attention. I bought the game and played it. The graphics are pretty cool. The horizon looks like a real horizon. The anime graphics are on spot. You can forget sometimes that you're in the polygonal world. But the game suffers from massive slowdowns, a wierd control system, and really bad english. I like the massive slowdowns. You can see the full burst from your fireworks missle when it explodes in hypnotic slow-motion. But the controls kinda suck. I thought I was cool, but I couldn't handle the Advanced controls, so I put it on Simple. The english is not there for comprehension, that's for sure. I shake my head everytime I regain control of my plane and it shows some words of encouragement. This is a game I've automatically put aside.

Shin-Sangoku Musou 2 turned into a really good game. But, it has turned into a collect-item game, which makes people play it more to get the special weapons and stuff. The graphics are sped up, there's a lot more can be shown on the screen, which means you can KO more people simultaneously with one "super-technique". Yeah, burn them with fire, 20 people added to your KO count. During the first couple of days with it, I selected all the women fighters. They're pretty, as far an in-game model can be on a PS2. They're pretty strong actually. I spent an inordinate amount of time leveling them up, which is not necessary, anyways. Just repeat a stage in the Free mode if you killed in the Musou mode. That should be my rule but I like leveling up, for some reason. Now I working on the main guys from the green. I once finished a stage with 2000+ KOs. Oh yeah. I can see myself playing this game until the next interesting PS2 game comes out.
