Our Youth Hostel is located on the top of ATAGO HILL(height：80m）， which overlooks a fine view of Castle Town, UWAJIMA.．Enjoy your stay !  ↑ YH is here JR Uwajima station (1200m) Uwatsuhiko shrine (800m on foot/1200m by car) YH  Get this English map at the information center in the waiting room of JR station．Because of an old castle town，roads are very complicated． google map around YH（though in Japanese）  ＜Sometimes navigation system does not work around here＞

The scene of the terraced fields reaching up to the
hilltop was awarded as one of the "Most Beautiful Scenes of Japanese Villages "
The fields have been constructed with elaborate stone walls in order to grow
crops, such as, potatoes and sweet potatoes. ※access by boat：15-minute cruise from Uwajima Port by bus ：1-hour ride from JR station Transportation Time Schedule
Uwajima Castle(宇和島城） Uwajima Castle was built in 1601 by Lord Takatora Todoh, who was a master castle designer in Edo era. The well-balanced donjon is one of the very few, which remains as originally built and is designated as an important, national cultural assets.
Tensya-en Garden（天赦園） Tensya-En Garden is a typical Japanese garden with
a large pond in the center. It was constructed
to be the retreat of Munetada Date(DA-teh). He was the 7th lord of the Date
family. We can enjoy various kinds of flowers and bamboos in the garden.
Wisteria and iris are especially beautiful in June.
